Most of the shirts that I wore in these photos were made by my mother. They were fashioned from cotton cloth sacks which held our chicken feed.

1st Grade 1951-52 – Obviously, this photo was taken later in the school year, because I show no evidence of the trauma that I suffered from having to start school!!
